P.S. Energy & Environment does NOT appear on the Science Citation Index Master Journal List. The ISI is considered “the” listing of peer reviewed journals, and for the most part if a journal does not appear there, it is not peer reviewed.

So the best way to hide a gross disparity between two data sets (which clearly demonstrates that one or the other must be wrong) is to use the respective bits of each set that best support your case, and pretend that it is one single authentic data set. You’re clutching at straws, Philip.

'Hiding the decline' is not a secret and is not a distortion of the science, it is simply the best way to merge the two datasets as set out in this widely acknowledged paper written in 1998. I find the way that you have manipulated the CRU emails as shocking for an elected representative.

So where did WUWT get the half a degree from? When you look at the observed artic temperature changes, it looks more like 2 degrees. I notice that if you compare the WUWT graph with other temperature records then the medieval warm period isn't as exaggerated. I think that the WUWT article shows the poles are more sensitive than other parts of the world. This is discussed within the report by the Artic Climate Impact Assesment that I referenced before.

You have not demonstrated this cherry-picking.

I supplied a link to the IPCCs AR4 which contains millenia of past temperature reconstructions.
I have re-read the article from WUWT and the thing that surprises me the most, is the lack of a comparison to warming today. By failing to provide the comparison, they have cherry picked the data.
