  1. Charles wardrop says:

Why on earth do the warmists and politicos, alas inclding the ineffable David Cameron, behave like fact-blind economic masochists, inflicting financial injury, to no useful purpose?

    • Ex-expat Colin says:

Because thy are nearly all VI’s and would have great difficulty getting a job through a Job Centre. Lucky mummy and daddy did it for them!

  2. Thomas Fox says:

Why have the EU and UK decided to saddle themselves with the most expensive energy cost when they wish to remain competitive in manufactured exports to all nations ?

    • Brin Jenkins says:

The whole is a mystery Thomas. Our manufacturing industry has been closed down fiscally with a political purpose since the end of WW2. Unions played a large part in this, Communism gaining workers control through their fervent union attendees. International Business achieved the rest by not investing as Germany did. Clapped out Victorian plant and machinery is uncompetitive against re-equipped, and emerging Nations with a strong work ethic. We have exported our seed corn and imported Third World hungry hordes by offering our State remuneration.

      • Barry Davies says:

You forgot to mention the deal which took us into the eeu and we were lied to regarding he reality in the 70’s where we agreed to take service industries and run down our heavy manufacturing area, and handed control to a communist system unelected corruption ridden body in brussels.

      • omanuel says:

You are astute to remember the lies of yesterday.

  3. davidbuckingham says:

My favourite analogy with the general acceptance of anthropogenic global warming theory over the last quarter century or so is that of eugenics which was thoroughly supported by the establishment and literati for the first half of this century, world-wide. It took a Hitler to give it a sufficiently bad name to neutralise it. Mussolini, unbelievably revered as an intellectual giant in Europe through the 20’s and 30’s was apparently a big fan, but the Webbs, George Bernard Shaw, H G Wells and dare I say it Churchill all subscribed to eugenics. Let’s hope it won’t take another Hitler to disgrace AGW. Great persistence Roger thank you.

    • Brin Jenkins says:

Eugenics from the Greek only means well born! Selective breeding on the farm is well practised and successful, in race horses the finest are bred for speed and in the old days we bred massive cart horses. What Tony Blair has introduced into our culture with his enrichment, was the negative side. Breaking down centuries of natural selection suiting climate and social needs. Have matters improved greatly in the last 20 years? Will the next 100 years bring us blessings of his foresight and Social vision?

  4. omanuel says:

Seemingly “senseless energy regulations” occur on both sides of the pond now.

Protection of the climate or the environment seems to be a disguise for redistribution of wealth and increased dependency of private citizens on government.

    • Ian Terry says:

I think it has a name. Agenda 21

    • Jane Davies says:

I think you are right there. It’s all part of a “very cunning plan” to quote Baldrick!

Private Baldrick: I have a plan, sir.
Captain Blackadder: Really, Baldrick? A cunning and subtle one?
      Private Baldrick: Yes, sir.
Captain Blackadder: As cunning as a fox who’s just been appointed Professor of Cunning at Oxford University?
      Private Baldrick: Yes, sir.
Captain Blackadder: Well, I’m afraid it’ll have to wait. Whatever it was, I’m sure it was better than my plan to get out of this by pretending to be mad. I mean, who would have noticed another madman round here?
Captain Blackadder: [whistle blows] Good luck, everyone.

There you have it…just about sums up the EU parliament….they are all mad, but cunning with it!

PS Except the UKIP MEP’s Roger!

  5. Brin Jenkins says:

Well said Roger, I fully expect the Population to be fully awake to the brainwashing now?

The theory now seems to rely upon particle physics. CO2 absorbs infrared radiation emitted from the Earth, this is stored in the upper atmosphere, then re-radiated back to the Planet at a lower frequency in one direction only. This it seems is what is relied upon to explain the effect of the CO2 molecule and Global Warming.

I would still like the exact mechanism explained in unambiguous terms by anyone who feels this to be the truth please?

The Global average temperature has been arrived at by measuring the incoming solar radiation and subtracting the re-radiated heat leaving the net gain. This nebulous method seems to negate looking at thermometers.

    • anng says:

Earth emits Infra-Red electromagnetic radiation – a form of pure energy. Carbon-dioxide molecules are able to react to this, scattering some back towards Earth. This effect is said to slow-down the escape of infra-red energy out to space. After all, there has to be a reason why the Earth doesn’t lose all it’s heat overnight like Venus and Mars do. That’s the physics that everyone agrees with. Apart from a few who say “there’s no such thing as the Green House Effect”.

Infra-red radiation will cause heat when directed at cool bodies (that is, material bodies rather than microscopic molecules). In a lab, when contained within a glass column, the glass vessel will warm. In the atmosphere, the carbon-dioxide molecules would prefer to use it to escape to space – were it not for the pressure of the atmosphere. Satellite measurements can’t give a sufficiently accurate measurement for us to know how much does escape.

And as for the Global Average Temperature! The Earth is so large that I’m surprised they get anything reasonable. The surface weather station data is adjusted for errors and to provide smoothed data for the computer models to use. Satellite temp data is better – and not warming as much.

  6. Ex-expat Colin says:

David Davies (Con) yesterday at the HoC. Debate on Climate Change and I think he is trying to influence Amber Rudd before he gets sacked? Sums it up really well.

Of course she has given the go ahead for the Swansea Bay tidal lagoon…so no hop[e here?

    • Ex-expat Colin says:

On the opposition interjection. That simply illustrates what shallow skim/Guardian/BBC reading/listening produces. Cannot quote the exact IPCC document to which Davies then reads from. Idiot demolished in a few sentences.

We pay such idiots for this and those in the Lords…about 800

  7. Thomas Fox says:

Some precise answers should be given to the effect of Co2 on climate it cannot have been the prime political discussion at the G7 but a smoke screen for the media !
Our PM cannot truly believe that all nations can fix no more than 2c +- by 2100, it must be a ploy of political think to control the masses
Mr Jenkins as I am a retired farmer your description ( seed corn exports ) is a masterpiece

    • Jane Davies says:

“Our PM cannot truly believe that all nations can fix no more than 2c +- by 2100”

Thomas, one who won’t do this is our PM here in Canada, I’m sure he has agreed to this just to shut up the opposition parties here as he has proved in the past he is not interested in any of the climate issues. We have a federal election here in October and I hope this anal control freak of a conservative leader is booted out, the thought of another five years of this man it more than depressing. When we left the UK the vile Gordon Brown, the pension thief, was about to become PM and that was one of the reasons we left, so if Stephen Harper get’s back in I’m not sure if I want to stay here either!

  8. Thomas Fox says:

Lucky for Canada and Australia as common sense is prevailing but in the UK the weight of political pressure from Europe decides our PM,s thinking on climate change ,therefore he believes it expedient to agree with them !
