Plenary Speech Climate Change October 14th 2015

<>

Mr. President,

Here we go again. Another UN Climate Conference. As ever, high hopes disappointed. Commitments below expectation. Implementation below commitments.

We should remember that there is still huge uncertainty around the climate issue.

It is not clear that the rise in atmospheric CO2 is anthropogenic, or that atmospheric CO2 has anything like the effect postulated by the IPCC.

Nor is it clear that the climate policies we’re pursuing will have any material effect on atmospheric CO2 levels or on climate.

What is absolutely clear is that we are utterly unable to predict future changes — all the predictions so far have been falsified by events. And it is clear that our climate policies will do far more economic damage than anything that could be envisaged as a result of climate change.

It is time to question our hysterical obsession with the new religion of climate alarmism.

  1. Jane Davies says:

Well said Roger……why are these people not getting it, are they deliberately in denial?
Love the shirt by the way……yellow suits you!

  2. omanuel says:

Thank you, Roger, for your efforts to save the scientific community from further self-inflicted damage.

The conclusion will be an awakening to the reality that:

    1. Every atom was made in the Sun, and then ejected five billion years (5 Ga) ago in a supernova explosion that birthed the Solar System.

    2. A “conscious and intelligent Mind” Max Planck realized in 1944 guides invisible force fields from the Sun’s pulsar core to sustain every atom and life in the Solar System now.

To avoid unnecessary violence and retaliation, it is in the best interest of everyone to find a peaceful resolution to the scientific conflict before the above inevitable conclusion to the drama is reached:

  3. Anne says:

The United Kingdom Takes A Battering. (Just a thought!)

Our belovéd Country is now taking a battering,
Violent wind, the like ne’er seen before,
Every-where in the UK takes a pounding,
Mid England as well as our seaside shores.
    It is an un-natural combination,
Unusual in every way, shape or form
Has HAARP been set into motion?
Are we supposed to accept it as the ‘norm’?’

High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program
Known as HAARP now, quite frequently,
    Although Governments never mention
What may well be known to you and me.
Torrential rain and winds hit the United Kingdom,
Our Country lashed by that wind and rain,
All taking a battering when all is said a done.
Is our Kingdom under fire once again?

    These most unusual weather patterns
No wonder ordinary folks must question,
What is the point of HAARP in Alaska
If it is not used every now and then?
Why indeed is the UK in the line of fire
And Ireland too must surely question
As they too, pick up the pieces
And start all over and over again.

What is the point of H.A.A.R.P
If it not tried and tested at all?
The manipulation of the earths Ionosphere,
Is it really a weapon of war?
It was developed by the US Military,
As told to the Parliament of the EU.
Should radiation be projected into the Ionosphere,
Would it be a warning to me and you?

So many wonders in the world
Yet mankind looks for power to command
    To Govern all Countries forever
Even our own once free land.
Yet are there powers far greater,
    The ones we cannot see?
    Or will mankind destroy forever,
And “what is to be”, will be?

A french weatherman on RTL suddenly gets gardening leave of the permanent variety by the look of it. To express your own opinion from an informed position on Climate.

  5. Ex-expat Colin says:

I forgot to mention…seems we are suddenly getting wild methane scares. Plenty of interesting discussion here:

    http://wattsupwiththat.com/2015/10/14/new-methane-scare-off-washington-coast-begs-the-question-did-anybody-look-for-these-before/

Its weird that in UK the recent handwring about low milk prices has pushed supermarkets into charging a bit extra to give directly to dairy farmers. The problem about milk arises from the EU and its milk excesses. What worries me is the UK suffering from the effects of this excess and looses self sustainability..another part of it that is!

And not forgetting – the cows are thoroughly condemned for emitting such gaseous stuff?

    • Jane Davies says:

I’m sure our ‘masters’ in Brussels will think of something to address the problem of farting cows, (why did Ms Merkel pop into my mind when I wrote that?) if not they could always slap an emissions tax on them!

  6. Ex-expat Colin says:

This needs to be carefully read, published/promulgated..whatever. Any challenge should be addressed to him..openly.

Patrick Moore (ex Greenpeace) Sept 2015

  7. Ex-expat Colin says:

Enjoyed your QT appearance Roger. And you may as well have spoken in Arabic to that panel.

  8. Derek says:

Yes, a good performance on Question Time. You got a good response from the audience, particularly on grammar schools. Isn’t it irritating to see a minister totally unable to answer a simple question on grammar schools and only able to repeat a policy commitment? Pity there was no question on climate change as the Tory was their minister on it.

  9. omanuel says:

Today we face an evil and powerful force that is even now being defeated by coincidence !

    [God’s way of remaining anonymous.]

  10. Brin Jenkins says:

Those who say they understand climate change must now explain very clearly, exactly how CO2 is a pollutant that is destroying our planets climate? Its not up to Climate Realists to disprove a moving and nebulous argument.

The certain destruction of economic prosperity is serious stuff, and they are the ones who must prove a case, or shut up as they don’t know!

The onus is firmly with them.

    • Ex-expat Colin says:

BBC Gardeners World last night and Carol Klein (gardener) on the topic of plant leaves and how they function. And she came away with this..more or less:

      6CO2 + 6H2O + light → C6H12O6 + 6O2

Without CO2, H2O and light life is extinguished because O2 will not be multiplied up (won’t be able to buy it in bottles really)

Greenhouses for tomatoes get C02 at 2000ppm artificially. Currently at 400ppm plants are relatively starved and 150ppm is near the end of it all. Patrick Moore talked about 17 times todays CO2 ppm which gave us our fossil fuels from vast green forests etc across the planet over 500 million years back. I’d believe him way before team Obama, UN, Pope, EU and vast swathes of troughers.

I think we are closer to running out of oxygen than frying due to carbon dioxide. Temperature is the trigger for CO2, not the other way round. Trouble is the troughers can’t get their heads and models round our chaotic system. Nor can I for that matter.

  11. Ex-expat Colin says:

    Christopher Monckton:
FOIAing the U.K. Supreme Court’s ‘pantomime of hate’ against climate skepticism

    http://wattsupwiththat.com/2015/10/17/foiaing-the-u-k-supreme-courts-pantomime-of-hate-against-climate-skepticism/

This is a proceeding whereupon Prof Sands mentioned scotching sceptical speak/speakers, amongst much looney speak by him. But it is much more serious than that….if that can be the case?

Brian May seems to have had a message from his hair do..again. Patrick Moore (Sky at Night) wasn’t looked after by the BBC. Wonder what he thought (or his hair do thought) of Patrick supporting UKIP?

    oh dear!
